Ivan Vasilchin was born in 1974. From 1997 to 2002, he studied at the Art University George Enescu in Iasi, Romania, faculty Design, Decorative and Fine Arts, major  Fresco. Since 2002 he has been involved with the restoration of frescoes in churches. He has had numerous solo and group exhibitions in Bulgaria and Romania.

Currently he lives and works in the "capital" of the Bulgarian community in Banat – Star Beshenov, Romania and acts as an independent professional artist.

“There is a fairy tale in each of my pictures that is hidden among symbols, geometric figures and elements borrowed from the frescos. My paintings are terse attempts to provoke the viewer.”
